To accommodate the growth in FLL teams in Maryland this year, we are implementing a series of Qualifier Events around the state.  All FLL teams will compete in a Qualifier Event, with the top teams advancing to the Maryland State FLL Championship.  Details of Qualifier Event locations, dates, rules and final deadlines are in development and will be released soon.  The basic schedule is:

Registering for Maryland FLL Tournaments

Registration for Maryland tournaments will begin in November, 2009. The cost will be $65/team.

Due to the large amount of registrations this year, the following rules will be enforced:

  1. You must register for a qualifier no later than Wednesday November 18th, 2009 by 5pm.
  2. Qualifier assignments will be posted shortly thereafter.
  3. Payments will be in coordination with the Qualifying sites. Once your site has been assigned the host site will notify you on where to send your payment.
  4. The Committee requests that teams sign up for Maryland FLL Tournaments ONLY if they will be able to participate in all 4 judging areas. Teams who attend a Tournament but do not participate in all 4 judging areas will be eliminated from any consideration for awards.
  5. All teams must have an official Team number that was provided when registering with the FIRST Lego League.
  6. You must register each of your teams separately!
  7. Remember that no more than 10 students can participate, per team, in the competition.
  8. An abstract of your team's project will be requested from each team that qualifies for states. This Abstract should be no longer than 250 words and should summarize the team research.
