Maryland "Bowled Over" FIRST Tech Challenge Championship Event Report
Thirty-two teams came to the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab on February 25, 2012 to compete for top honors at the Maryland FTC Championship. All the teams were winners, having advanced through five Qualifiers to reach this stage. Our Champions are pictured below, and listed here. A bit of older business...the Judges Award from the Harford Qualifier went to Team 4234 Plutonium Parrots for their help obtaining a last-minute alternate site for the Qualifier in the face of a snow and ice storm.
Our Volunteers of the Year, the Spangler Family (and Allan Cass) from Team 2843 Under the Son, who transported field equipment, setup and played major volunteer roles including FTA, Lead Scorer, Head Queuer and much more at all six events on our Maryland and DC FTC calendar this year...in addition to hosting a scrimmage, workshop sessions, and other exhibitions. We cannot thank them enough for their time, energy and contributions to FIRST throughout the region.
